About

Sarah

Welcome to my kitchen at Silverlace Farm, a registered small-holding in the Suffolk countryside. I am passionate about preserving seasonal produce, be it home-grown, foraged from the hedgerows, or sourced from local markets. I use this produce to create delicious jams, jellies, chutneys, pickles, curds, cordials and more.....

I teach people how to make their own preserves, and gain the confidence to experiment with different, often unusual, flavour combinations. You will be amazed at how quickly you can build up a pantry full of gourmet preserves.

I run courses throughout the year, teaching traditional methods to individuals and small groups of up to four people. The courses are designed to be hands-on, but with plenty of personal tips, demonstrations and guidance at all stages. Short courses can be linked together to form a whole day of preserving action!

You leave Silverlace Farm with everything you create, full of enthusiasm and inspiration to continue preserving at home.

Produce

There are a number of good reasons to eat more local, seasonal food:

We can better support the local economy and reconnect with nature's cycles and the passing of time but, most importantly, because seasonal food is fresher, it is more nutritious and tastes a whole lot better.

I source all ingredients locally in East Anglia and my courses run with what is currently available in each season.

If you have your own seasonal produce, talk to me about it as you may be able to use some of your own special ingredients.
